This class is a community class of dance students and professionals interested
in exploring new and creative dance techniques for Dance Oriental (Belly Dance). Both Tribal and
Fusion Dancers are welcome. Dancers who take this class have been invited to perform
in some of the Dalia Carella Dance Collective's performances as well.

Come sizzle with us with two out of town instructors visiting New York City!
Ruby Jazayre - who mentored under Ibrahim Farrah, is delighted to return to NYC and present sizzling drum solo combos that you can use in your own dance style. You will learn all kinds of ways to dance to a drum solo with Ruby's unique and powerful urban beledi style.
Ruby - Turkish Oriental belly dance- fast, furious and full of spunk! The class will begin with a breakdown of basic zill patterns then move into a powerhouse warm up, saucy isolations, shimmies, hair tosses, turns, footwork and combinations. Bring your zills and be ready for a workout because you will be moving fast!! - Please bring Zills

Ruby Jazayre - based in South Bend, Indiana, is an accomplished performer, instructor and choreographer of Middle Eastern Dance, specializing in Egyptian/Urban Beledi. She thrills her audiences and inspires students with her earthy dynamics, powerful hips and bold personal style. As a popular seminar performer and instructor, she has appeared throughout the US, Canada, and Germany. She is well known for her masterful drum solos and for her unique “Beledi Style Dancing”, so much so that the renowned Ibrahim Farrah called her the “Queen of Beledi”. Ruby - Ruby is based in Portland, Oregon and is one of the most innovative Turkish-style belly dancers taking the stage. Her passion for belly dance has taken her to Turkey twice where she intensively studied Romani (Gypsy) dance as well as Turkish Oriental and Folk dancing. She is widely recognized for a raw, untamed and passionate dance style that is uniquely her own. Performing with power, grace and agility on stage, Ruby has won numerous titles including 2009 BellyDancer USA.
